DOWN TO PATAGONIA
Starting out in the highlands of Bolivia, the GoRUFFLY pack travels down Argentina’s famous Ruta 40, then crosses the Andes on horseback like oldtime gauchos (cowboys), and rides to Ushuaia at the bottom of Patagonia in far-off Tierra del Fuego.
After the challenges ride over the Andes and through the Amazon, the GoRUFFLY pack sets off from the highlands of Bolivia.
We first contront the famed and feared Yungas Death Road to test our skills and discover just how ‘deathy’ it is.
Then we ride across the white, wide-open Uyuni Salt Flats where we hope to not lose sight of White Swiss Shepherd Whimsy.
Next, we cross into Argentina and ride the arid, northern stretch of famous Ruta 40 as it wides down the eastern Andes.
At Mendoza, we set aside our iron steeds to lope or gallop on horseback over the Andes like oldtime South Americanย gauchos (“cowboys”).
Back on our motorcycles, we ride the slender flank of Chile to reach the mystical Ilse of Chiloรฉ where pods of whales and waddles of penguins gather.
Then we ride back into Argentina and down the southern, gravelly extreme of Ruta 40 through windswept Patagonia to Ushuaia on far-off Tierra del Fuego.
