The wise old sniffers have a saying where I live: “Appreciation is a wagging tail everyday when you come home.” It means that gratitude is expressed in small acts each and every day.
We dogs innately grasp everyday appreciation. But, in my few puppy months of life, I’ve learned that it’s a little more difficult for people. It just turns out that a person’s life is more complicated than a dog’s and sometimes things get missed.
That’s why Thanksgiving is such a wonderful opportunity to remind ourselves of all the people – and creatures – that we’re thankful for and make sure we let them know it.
Almost as Good as a Lick on the Face
The wise old sniffers have another saying: “There’s no better way to say 'I love you' than a lick on the face but a juicy bone comes pretty close!” It means there’s no substitute for saying “I love you” but that doesn’t mean a gift isn’t a wonderful gesture.
Now, I’m brand new to my pack and cute as a button with that new puppy smell so my person can’t do enough to lavish me with attention, but she went above and beyond when my comfy, new bed arrived in the mail just a few days ago. She even got it big for me to grow into!
When you feel appreciated you want to want everyone to feel that way. So, I’m sharing what I love about my new TenderPaw TREKKER Bedroll with all the other persons out there in hopes that they’ll want to show how much they appreciate their dogs too.
Made by Real Hands for Tender Paws
The top of my TenderPaw bed is a cotton fabric called mish. It’s woven tightly with sturdy, modern thread by indigenous artisans on a giant loom using both hands and feet the same way it’s been done for centuries.
It’s Not a Raft but It’s Waterproof
While the top is made for sleeping comfortably, the bottom is made for keeping the rain, mud, and rocks from getting through. It’s made from a durable, waterproof fabric called Oxford and you could even drag your dog down the rocky trail if he got injured or just decided to be lazy.
Integrated Padding for Always-Everywhere Comfort
My TenderPaw has a soft layer of foam in the center where the mish fabric is a solid color. There’s a double layer of cushion around the gently raised rim that’s perfect for resting your weary head.
Roll It Up and Bring It Everywhere
I call it a bed but it’s really a bed-roll. That’s because it rolls up and comes with a beautiful, matching handle strap so you can carry it – or attach it to your gear – and bring it everywhere you and your pup go together.
Use It Like a Sleeping Bag to Hunker Down Real Cozy
There have been no big storms since I was born but I’m told some dogs get very scared by loud noises and some dogs’ fur doesn’t keep away the shivers on a cold night. Well, my TenderPaw zips wide open like a crocodile mouth and I can fit my whole body inside.
Add as Much Cushion as Your Tender Paws Want or Need
Maybe your dog is getting up there in years, maybe she’s got a hide as sensitive as the Princess and the Pea, or maybe you just want to treat her like the queen wildling that she is. Open that very same crocodile-mouth zipper and add more cushion inside with blankets, pillows, or even old socks and sweaters.
In Case You Didn’t Notice the Stash-Cash(-or-Anything-Else) Pocket
Some dogs need to bring medication with them wherever they go. Some people like to hide cash, credit cards, or other valuables just in case something bad happens. It’s really easy to miss but my TenderPaw has a secret Velcro pocket hidden along the seam.
Use and Abuse It, Then Wash It Clean
I’ve heard that some dogs eat their bones on it. Some dogs trudge into the house and lay down on it with muddy paws when it rains. Let your dog use and abuse his TenderPaw however makes him happiest and then wash it clean. Use a good detergent and the colorfast fabric won’t stain, fade, or run.
It's Thanksgiving month, which means there’s no better time to be #iAmDogGrateful. There’s really no better way to show your dog how much you care than the TenderPaw TREKKER Bedroll. Remember what the wise old sniffers say:
There’s no better way to say ‘I love you’ than a lick on the face but a juicy bone – or a comfy bed – comes pretty close.
Well, I could go on and on telling you how much I love my new bed but, since it’s actually time for me to curl up and take a nap, I’ll just show you!
