Cockpit PawGuards enhances your copilot’s protection by restraining the hind quarters of active-kicking copilots within their K9 Moto Cockpit.
Some dogs manage to kick or free their hind paws from between the Cockpit roll bars when adjusting their riding position over time.
The one-piece PawGuards insert secures between the upper and lower roll bars and passes beneath the cushion to create a semirigid barrier.
This ensures that the copilot’s paws stay inside and erects an additional layer of protection against outside hazards while riding.
The rear tail hole* is a four-square velcro-lined window that allows the copilot’s tail to hang free.
The tail hole can be optionally covered with the included velcro patch or enlarged by cutting away webbing squares as desired.
NOTE: After adjusting the buckle strap lengths, knot the loose end against the buckle to lock it in place and avoid loosening with use.

Durable Safety Net To Enhance Protection
Durable Safety Net To Enhance Protection

Cockpit PawGuards forms a durable safety net around your copilot to enhance protection and keep their hind paws inside their Cockpit at all times.
Protection
Some active copilots manage to kick their hind paws out from between the Cockpit roll bars when they adjust their riding position.
The PawGuards insert fastens to the upper and lower roll bars to prevent limbs from escaping.
The durable, semirigid barrier around the frame also erects an additional layer of protection against outside hazards to enhance copilot safety.
Construction
The safety net lattice is constructed of double-layered โ inch nylon webbing that are overlapped and double-stitched together for reinforcement.
This durable grid pattern is highly resistant against kicking and scratching from active hind paws. Meanwhile normal airflow remains nearly unrestricted for cooling ventilation.
Installation
The PawGuards insert secures to the upper and lower roll bars by side-release buckles that are inward facing for a more subtle, streamlined appearance seen from the outside.
Webbing straps pass beneath the Cockpit cushion to provide additional anchor points that prevent hind paws from kicking out.
Fit
When fastened tightly to the roll bars, the reinforced webbing structure permits limited stretch to bulge and cradle around the hind quarters.
The rear tail hole is a window opening the size of four webbing squares to allow the copilotโs tail to hang free while riding.
The included velcro patch covers the tail hole for those preferring all extremities remain inside the Cockpit.
Alternatively, cut away additional webbing squares as needed for dogs with large-girth tails.
Cockpit PawGuards are craftsman built in traditional saddlery workshops for hard everyday use and unrelenting copilot abuse while riding.

Does my dog need PawGuards?
No. We don't consider PawGuards to be essential Cockpit equipment. PawGuards enhance protection by ensuring that the hind paws always stay within the Cockpit's padded roll bars. They also erect an additional layer of protection against outside hazards.
How do you install the PawGuards?
PawGuards is a one-piece insert that secures to the upper and lower roll bars with side-release buckles that connect on the inside of the frame. Additional webbing straps pass beneath the Cockpit cushion to further anchor the insert in place.
Where does the tail go when riding with PawGuards?
PawGuards has a window-like tail hole opening at the rear to allow your copilot's tail to hang free.
The window is lined with velcro and can be closed from the inside with the included velcro-lined patch.
The tail hole is purposefully small at just four webbing squares but can be enlarged as desired by cutting away additional squares and sealing the ends with a lighter or superglue.
Is it unsafe to ride without PawGuards?
We do not consider PawGuards to be an essential Cockpit safety accessory. This safety net insert is intended to enhance copilot safety by ensuring that the hind paws remain inside at all times.
Just as some riders wear a neck braces, chest pad, or airbag vest, PawGuards enhances your Cockpit's protective features.
Do I have to order PawGuards with my Cockpit?
No. Cockpit PawGuards are not a custom product and do not need to be ordered jointly with your Cockpit. However, PawGuards have been continually in high demand since their introduction and we struggle to maintain inventory so it's a good idea to plan ahead.
