Cockpit Rainfly surrounds your copilot with a durable waterproof barrier for a warm, dry, comfortable ride in extreme weather conditions.
The fitted shape minimizes wind catchment and buffeting in high-speed riding while the paracord lining cinches to secure to the Cockpit at the bottom skirting.
The upturned Elizabethan-style collar prevents water from collecting at the neck and infiltrating through the head opening.
The rainfly hood is a separate piece that overlaps and cinches around the collar for a water-resistant seal.
The front apron extends over the front paws to deflect and channel water down and away from the Cockpit.
NOTE: First select the rainfly size and then select the hood size separately.

Durable Waterproof Barrier for Your Cockpit
Durable Waterproof Barrier for Your Cockpit

Cockpit Rainfly surrounds your copilot in a durable waterproof barrier in the event of extreme weather conditions.
Construction
The outer shell is constructed of a medium-weight waterproof nylon textile.
This creates a flexible and resistant barrier that last longer than an ultralight material would over repeated hard uses.
The rainfly shell is entirely free of insulating properties to reduce excessive heat buildup when riding in warm tropical rain conditions.
Unnecessary features and stitching are also absent across the exterior to eliminate vulnerabilities that might eventually allow moisture to enter.
The flat apron-like front deflects water and channels runoff downward to avoid pooling.
Shape
The Rainfly contours the Cockpit with minimal bulging or excess material.
The fitted shape reduces buffeting and flapping when riding at high speeds to equip for foul weather while maintaining the streamlined profile.
Paracord drawstrings run through a channel that skirts the bottom to allow for cinching and tightening. This creates a similar effect to a shower cap to create a secure water-resistant enclosure.
In the case of windy or high-speed riding, consider attaching a strap from the motorcycle or Cockpit to one or more of the eyelets along the bottom to prevent the rainfly skirt from lifting.
Fit
Although the Elizabethan collar adds a touch of style that never goes out of fashion, the real purpose is more practical.
- The padded collar improves comfort around the dogโs neck even as the head opening cinches tighter.
- The hood gusset overlaps the collar to create a powerful seal against the driving rain
Hood
The hood is a separate component to use only when the severest conditions require it.
Hood comfort is essential safety because an irritated copilot will fidget just when the adverse road conditions require more stable riding.
An elastic tube sock-style interior conforms comfortably to the head and neck to avoid rubbing and irritation.
Drawstring channels line the waterproof exterior at the (1) neck, (2) head, (3) forehead, at (4) just above the eyes for multiple points of adjustment.
The hood further leverages the riding goggles to improve fit and secure firmly in place even as it is pummeled by the rain, wind, and a fidgeting copilot.
- The goggle strap passes through the webbing loop at the top of the hood
- The goggle face mask rests over the hoodโs forehead gusset
Cockpit Rainfly includes a cinchable travel stuff sack that compresses the item for placement inside the luggage or for compact storage on the motorcycle or Cockpit exterior.
Frequently Asked Questions

How does the rainfly attach to my Cockpit?
Paradors drawstrings run through channels along the bottom skirting of the rainfly. After placing the rainfly on your Cockpit, pull the drawstrings and use the plastic stoppers to enclose the rainfly along the bottom of your Cockpit.
To avoid lifting when riding at high speed, consider attaching one or more straps to the available eyelets at the bottom of the rainfly and pass the strap(s) under your Cockpit.
Does my dog need to wear the hood?
The rainfly hood is optional and is often used only in exceptionally cold conditions or in severe downpours. Most copilots will tuck behind their rider to limit the actual rain or moisture that reaches their head and face when riding in the rain.
How do I put the rainfly on?
Saddle your dog up and strap them into their Cockpit normally. Then, place the rainfly over by passing your dogโs head through the head hole. Next, tighten the skirting using the drawstrings to enclose the rainfly along the bottom of the Cockpit. Finally, adjust the head hole drawstring to limit water entry.
Place the rainfly hood over the dogโs head as the last step only if conditions require use of the hood.
Where can I store the rainfly when not using it?
Your Cockpit Rainfly comes in a convenient cinchable travel stuff sack. Return the rainfly to the stuff sack after use and store inside the motorcycle luggage. Otherwise, strap the stuff sack to the motorcycle or Cockpit exterior if the rainfly is wet or to free up valuable luggage space.
Does the rainfly provide my dog warmth when riding in cold weather?
Yes, the waterproof textile shell of the Cockpit Rainfly has natural insulating properties that will help maintain a warm interior temperature. However, no additional insulating material is included in the construction to avoid overheating when using the rainfly in tropical rain conditions.
When riding in extreme cold, consider wearing a dog jacket inside the rainfly.
