Since the beginning of GoRUFFLY, we routinely travel four days each week and spend the other three days working from an AirBnB.
We prefer AirBnBs because you have more personal space and get to experience life in a typical neighborhood.
To date, we’ve stayed at dozens of AirBnBs across North and South America and, I’m proud to say, we received only glowing reviews as renters.
Until now.

I’m pretty neurotic about cleaning up before we leave each AirBnB – to the point where Greg grumbles and fusses.
“We’re paying a cleaning fee on top of the rental price,” he laments, “so why do we have to do a full house cleaning each time?”
Blame the people-pleaser in me, I respond, but that’s just how I prefer to leave a place.
And so, it was an enormous surprise when we received a message from a host who requested a $100 payment after our stay.
The photographic evidence he submitted scandalously documented several small clumps of fur discovered beneath the furniture.
“$100 for some fur!?!” was Greg’s outraged reply.
“Right? Isn’t that gall?” I said.
He fumed another moment and then said, “Remember how the shower knob came right off in my hand?”
“Yeah, it wasn’t even a nice place,” I agreed.
“Shouldn’t I demand $100 for the emotional distress of having to walk outside naked to turn off the hot water?”
