After suffering a ligament injury while running and playing in the sand in Baja California, Mexico, Moxie underwent surgery in Guatemala City several weeks later.

Five days into an optimistic recovery, she suffered an adverse reaction to a common anti-inflammatory medication and passed away just hours later that same day.
