Why is the Cockpit so expensive?
K9 Moto Cockpit is a premium motorcycle dog carrier that is craftsman built to provide the maximum protection, comfort, and ride performance.
Other carrier options might make compromises in design, performance, and safety to achieve a lower price point, but that is not a compromise we will make for our dog or yours.
But is K9 Moto Cockpit really so expensive for what it does?
A pair of motorcycle saddlebags or aluminum panniers and mounting rack easily costs $1500. That’s nearly as much as your Cockpit, but saddlebags and panniers aren’t designed to provide any protection or comfort for a dog.
What about riding equipment that protects against impacts and abrasion? Helmet, boots, gloves, and armored jacket and pants easily cost another $1000. In fact, some top-shelf riding jackets alone cost $800-$1000 and most quality helmets exceed $500.
K9 Moto Cockpit does both. It carries like hard luggage and protects like an armored jacket โ and does it without hobbling your natural ride performance by pulling a sidecar or trailer.
Finally, your Cockpit is craftsman built and upholstered, not mega factory mass-produced. It’s a once-for-a-lifetime heritage product to share the thrill of the ride together. Easily retrofit the baseplate for your next motorcycle and share the experience with each new generation of copilot.

Do you offer military, veterans, service dog, or first responder discounts?
We do not currently have a formal discount program for these or other valued individuals or groups.
The reason is we are a small business that manufactures a high-quality, complex product and we price it as economically as we possibly can for all valued riders and their dogs.
Multiple riders have informed us that they received financial support through nonprofit organizations that recognize the health, mental health, and wellness benefits of sharing outdoor activities with our dogs. So, we highly recommend performing a Google search and then reaching out to groups whose mission it is to support individuals like yourself.
Nevertheless, we do set aside a small budget each year to support a few riders who face particular challenges. It never hurts to ask, but please understand that we are very limited in the discounts we can offer.

How do I apply to be a brand ambassador?
We strongly believe there is no better way to demonstrate the quality, safety, and performance of the Cockpit than through ordinary riders and their K9 copilots who share real world experiences together.
That is why we โ Jess, Greg, and Whimsy โ launched GO RUFFLY Around the World more than three years and 50,000 kilometers ago.
We are ordinary riders โ not ex-motocross champions or GS Trophy winners โ and we’re putting the Cockpit and all our outdoor dog gear to the ultimate test.
Many other riders are having or planning for their own extraordinary adventures and we’re thrilled for RUFFLY gear and the Cockpit can help make it happen.
We put aside a very small budget each year to help other riders GO RUFFLY together on their own extraordinary adventures. So if you have an incredible story to tell, we’d love to hear about it, but please understand that the support we can provide is extremely limited.
